Our Story - Carabao Brewing…where we Carabao you!
Carabao Brewing was founded in 2018 by husband-and-wife team Ben and Anna Johnson. Ben and Anna first came to Guam in 2017 to visit a friend, and after two days they fell in love with the island and knew this was where they wanted to open a brewery and live forever. In July of 2018, they purchased the Mermaid tavern and Grill in downtown Hagatna, and after a year of remodel, Carabao opened in July 2019. Brewing on a 5-barrel brew system, Carabao has steadily grown thanks to the help of their loyal patrons and dedicated employees, whom without none of this would be possible. In June of 2021, Carabao signed a lease for a new production facility and taproom locate in Anigua. Look for it to open fall of 2022.
At Carabao we love producing craft beers of all styles and pride ourselves in always having a beer for you no matter your tastes. Our true love falls in producing classic West Coast IPAs using todays modern hops and techniques, as well as replicating true to style classics from the past. In addition to beer, we have a love for quality sandwiches and craft all our meats in house and from scratch using the freshest ingredients. Good beer, good food, and good friends is our motto, and we invite you to come and share some of our hafa adai spirit. Cheers!
